Music

All Saints Academy Catholic School offers a wide variety in music education. Our award-winning programs offer students the opportunity to explore their musical talents.

Music and music performance indirectly boost academic performance in all subject areas. It is an important component of the school’s whole-person educational philosophy.

The music program at All Saints Academy Catholic School offers a complete band curriculum, enriching instrumental activities, and vocal technique. ASA nurtures musical growth, creativity, social skills, communication skills, self-concepts, and life-affirming values, such as self-discipline, self-esteem, respect, and responsibility. Students learn basic music fundamentals that are life-long, enriching skills benefiting all God’s people.

All Saints Academy Music Programs

Beginning Band

The beginning band is made up of 4th graders that are trying band for the first time, as well as 5th graders that are starting out on a different instrument. The students participate in one lesson (individual) or sectional (group lesson) per week, depending on the number of students in the band. We also meet once a week for full band practice. The students perform three times throughout the year – the Christmas Concert in December, the Solo contest in February, and the Spring concert in May.

Concert Band

The concert band is made up of 5th-8th graders that are already proficient in their instruments (they have completed the beginning band class or take private music lessons). The students participate in one sectional, or group lesson, during the week, and we meet twice a week during concert band class to practice as a full group. These students perform several times throughout the year – concerts, parades, solo contests, organizational contests, and pep band events.

Jazz Band

The jazz band is made up of 5th-8th grade students, and students are chosen based on an audition process. We meet once or twice a week, depending on the time of year. The music that these students perform is usually more challenging than the concert band repertoire. The jazz band performs at the Christmas Concert, the Spring Concert, and at special community events.

Chorus

The chorus is made up of 6th-8th grade students. We meet once or twice a week, depending on the time of year. The students perform three times throughout the year – the Christmas concert, group contest, and the Spring concert. This group also leads the singing at many of our all-school masses.
